A new Living Well partnership is being developed to build easier routes to healthier lifestyles for people in the borough.
Living Well will be delivered by a partnership between The Big Life group, Link4Life, Rochdale & District MIND, Early Break and Rochdale CVS to offer lifestyle change on our doorsteps and in our homes.

Ownership of a Grimsby-based provider of health and social care services is set to transfer from The Big Life group to Care Plus Group this next month.
From its centre in the heart of East Marsh, Open Door provides a safe and welcoming environment offering health care, social support services, information, advice and guidance.
And, with the services proving successful and showing potential to further embed itself in the North East Lincolnshire health and social care economy, the two social enterprises agree that the transfer will give Open Door the chance take advantage of the local networks and relationships that Care Plus Group has within the region. - First free school to be inspected receives ‘Good’ rating July 10, 2015
A primary school is celebrating after being graded as ‘Good’, following its recent Ofsted inspection.
Longsight Community Primary is the first free school in Manchester to be inspected by the national body, which states, “There is a strong collective vision to provide a community school which is truly inclusive and meets the needs of all those who attend.”

- Fun day a chance for community to help design new school April 13, 2015
A May Day Fun Day at the Cheetwood Centre will give local parents the chance to meet the new Principal and find out more about Unity Community Primary, the new school for the area.
The Fun Day, on 4 May, will be from 11am to 4pm at the Cheetwood Centre on Allesley Drive, the site for Unity Community Primary, set to open its doors to pupils in reception, year one and year two in September.
Unity Community Principal Jude Lee said: “This is an incredibly exciting time for both us and parents locally. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to become involved in the design and planning of a new school, and find out about the amazing plans we have in store for our future pupils.”
The Fun Day will include lots of activities for children including a bouncy castle, art workshops and face painting.
Prospective parents will be able to meet Mrs Lee and discover some of the impressive features of the new school, including state-of-the-art technology to reflect the school’s focus on enterprise, communication and technology. Continue reading →

- Roma Migrants: Panel Discussion Forum January 27, 2014
Fay Selvan, CEO of The Big Life group, is pleased to be taking part in a panel discussion forum about Roma migration.
Roma Migrants: A challenge or an opportunity for our cities? takes places at the University of Manchester on Thursday 13th February. Sitting alongside Fay will be the Rt Hon David Blunkett MP, Dr Michael Stewart (University College London), Carol Powell (Gorton Mount Primary), Professor Yaron Matras (University of Manchester) and Ramona Constantin (a Roma community outreach worker who also works for The Big Issue in the North). The event will be chaired by Dr Nissa Finney from the University of Manchester.
