What you’ll be doing

As a Smoking Cessation Worker, you will work with people who are experiencing problems with substance misuse in Trafford and Criminal Justice settings, and who may be ambivalent or have multi barriers in accessing services. The role will require you to identify and engage people in Trafford, supporting and motivating them to stop smoking.

Your role will be to develop and lead on community initiatives which promote smoking cessation in community settings, and to provide NRT and Vapes to clients as part of a nicotine reduction pla.n

You will work alongside the Achieve Assertive Outreach Team, taking a targeted approach to providing appropriate, evidence-based interventions to motivate individuals to quit smoking.

What we need from you

  • You will provide expertise to identify and engage people in Trafford using Drug and Alcohol and Criminal Justice support services settings, actively supporting individuals to stop smoking
  • You will be able to engage, motivate and reconnect with service users who may be ambivalent to treatment and support them to access a plan to quit.
  • You will support community initiatives which promote smoking cessation.
  • You will use a range of evidence-based tools and techniques for motivating clients.
  • You will develop effective relationships with a range of external organisations and agencies.
  • You need an enhanced level DBS check for this role.

  • An annual salary of £30,060 (NJC SCP 17) pro rata
  • 17.5 hour weekly contract
  • 25 days holiday (pro rata), and 30 once you’ve been here five years
