If the client is under 16, please direct them to their GP for advice.

If they are not registered with a GP in Rochdale, please contact their local GP or refer to their local Talking Therapies service using this link: Find NHS talking therapies for anxiety and depression – NHS

If the client is new to the area, they should register with a GP in Rochdale and then re-refer.

Your responses to our questions have indicated that Talking Therapies is not the most appropriate service for the client as Talking Therapies does not provide crisis support.

If the client needs urgent support for their mental health, please call 111 and select the mental health option.

• Your life is at risk – for example you have seriously injured yourself or taken an overdose.
• You do not feel you can keep yourself or someone else safe.

Please share any risk relating to the client with their GP.

Please note – referrals with unmanaged immediate risk will not be accepted by the service as we are not able to offer crisis support.

Your responses to our questions have indicated that Talking Therapies is not the most appropriate service for the client. NHS Talking Therapies is designed to help individuals who are experiencing common mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, stress, panic attacks, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

If the client is seeking support for issues outside of this e.g. severe and enduring mental health issues or seeking a diagnosis, please advise client to make an appointment with their GP to discuss appropriate services.
