SAFE Tameside

SAFE Tameside is Tameside’s VCSFE Community Crisis space hosted from The Anthony Seddon Centre and delivered in partnership by four organisations: The Big Life Group, The Anthony Seddon Fund, TOG Mind and Infinity Support services.  The Big Life Group is the lead organisation for the voluntary sector providers within the service.

We offer a warm welcome and non-judgemental support to local people age 18 or over, looking for a quick non-clinical response to help with their current mood or unhelpful emotions.

A key purpose of this service is to offer people different choices to managing mental health and wellbeing , helping them avoid unnecessary visits to accident emergency and other urgent care services.

SAFE Tameside provides a safe space for people who are experiencing mental distress or feel they are going through a personal crisis.  Our peer coaches can support people with low level calming techniques, make referrals to a variety of supportive services and introduce you to local services.

SAFE Tameside has strong links to support groups, organisations and opportunities in the Tameside community which support people building social networks and develop essential coping skills to reduce poor mental health in the future

SAFE Tameside operates between 1pm to 8pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 3pm Saturdays and Bank holidays.

You can access the service without prior arrangement by way of a drop-in service (up until 7pm) where wait times are kept to a minimum or via telephone.
