Response to the Consultation on Funding Reform for Apprenticeships in EnglandLeave a Comment
This week The Big Life group submitted our response to the Apprenticeship Funding Consultation. The consultation was based on The Richard Review of Apprenticeships, published in November 2012.
The consultation proposes three models for reformed funding, we believe that a Direct Payment Model if properly designed and implemented, would increase opportunities and be more inclusive of different types of employer and Apprentice. It would simplify and better incentivise Apprenticeships and give employers greater flexibility and leverage when dealing with training providers.
The Big Life group believes that any future model should have Apprentice experience at its core and any system ought to consider the enormous diversity in Apprentices and Apprenticeship programmes. The government needs to take into account the impact of its chosen model.
