Who are we for?

Living Well Tameside is a mental health service working with individuals in Tameside and Glossop. This team has been established to meet the requirements of people with multi-faceted needs that are below the threshold for secondary mental health care input. This includes:

  • The effects of childhood abuse.
  • Emotional instability.
  • Dual diagnosis (substance misuse, learning disability and autism).
  • Young adults with mental health needs transitioning from CAMHS.
  • People with complex psychological needs.
  • Medically unexplained symptoms.
  • People frequently asking for mental health help, including GP and A&E.
  • People under the care of tertiary services e.g., with eating disorders.

The purpose of the team is to provide a range of person-centred interventions including assessment, support plans, holistic interventions and support for individuals introduced to the service.

Living Well Tameside Team

A range of interventions are provided to the local community by Living Well Tameside based on the presenting needs and ambitions of the people. This may include:

  • Information advice & connecting to other services.
  • Up to 12 weeks of personalised mental health support delivered by:

– Peer Support Coaches delivered by The Big Life group and TOG Mind.

– Mental Wellbeing Coaches delivered by The Big Life group and TOG Mind.

– Senior Mental Health Practitioners delivered by Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust.

In addition, we support people to access Psychological Therapies delivered by Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust.

The Living Well Tameside team also works with wider community organisations and services to support people in areas outside of the team’s specialisms, such as housing and employment services.

Living Well Tameside aims to link people into other services or groups for onwards support after the team’s intervention; and to help people build connections with their local community. We work closely with people with lived experience to set up and facilitate peer led support groups within the community.

So far, we have currently set up the following:
