Qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner PWP

Salary: £26,970 per annum (pro-rata)
Working hours:  Two positions available: 37.5 hours per week / 30 hours per week
Contract length: Permanent
Holidays: 25 days per annum, pro-rata (rising to 30 days after 5 years)
Based at: Lock 50, Rochdale

Thinking Ahead is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. This role will involve engaging with the residents and professionals of Heywood Middleton and Rochdale (HMR) to help raise awareness of our wellbeing service and how we can meet the needs of the local community. As someone who is passionate about mental health and wellbeing, you will have a key role of engaging with the local population and will help more people to access the support that they need, when they need it.

We are looking for someone who;

  • Will provide evidence based CBT and brief intervention support to our local population
  • Will be involved in conducting assessments, providing one-to-one and groups treatments.
  • Will provide treatment over the phone, face to face and via online platforms such as Silvercloud
  • Will get involved with service development activities, representing the service at various events.
  • Will be able to work under your own initiative and be able to manage your own caseload.
  • Will have the ability to work to deadlines and deal with conflicting priorities.

Thinking Ahead is a mental health and a wellbeing service which offers; Therapy groups, Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Clinical Psychology and pre-therapy support for clients that may have complex social issues. The service is funded by the Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Clinical Commissioning Group (HMR CCG). The office for Thinking Ahead is based at the Lock 50 Business Centre in Rochdale, with the Big Life head office based in Hulme, Manchester.

Coronavirus update

One-to-one appointments that would normally be delivered face-to-face will now take place over the phone or through video call. There is no need to call us to confirm – your regular point of contact will call you at the time your appointment was scheduled.

We are also no longer holding groups inside. We’re currently arranging alternatives where possible through considering walking or virtual groups. Please contact your group facilitator, or the centre where the group runs from, for more information.
