Community Voice is a user-led service, run by people who have been affected by drug or alcohol use, which works to get the voices of people who have been affected by drugs and alcohol heard in the commissioning and every day running of drug and alcohol services in Liverpool.

What you’ll be doing

As a Lived Experience Involvement Worker, you will have the opportunity to work as part of the Liverpool team providing first class services to individuals who access the Community Voice service. You will support the expert by experience programme and enable service users, and people with lived experience, to have a voice in Drug and Alcohol Services through a range of engagement, training, and volunteering opportunities.

What we need from you

  • You will have the ability to communicate appropriately and develop challenging, motivational, and positive relationships with those with drug and alcohol lived experience.
  • You will have the passion to help and support people to share their lived experience.
  • You will have lived experience of substance misuse.
  • You will have experience of working with a range of service providers and stakeholders.
  • You will have the ability to work effectively with a range of people from different skills and backgrounds.
  • You will have knowledge of adults at risk and safeguarding.
  • You will have a positive outlook and a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • You will have personal resilience and a flexible attitude in the face of difficulties.

What we will offer you in return

  • An annual salary of £25,119 (NJC 9).
  • A permanent, full-time contract (35 hours per week).
  • Based in Liverpool City Centre.
  • 25 days holiday, and 30 once you’ve been here five years.
