Le Jog 2009 Reliability & Touring Trial

Douglas Powrie and Mihran' Hovanian did an amazing drive from Land's End to John O'Groats as part of “Le Jog 2009 Reliability & Touring Trial”, and generously gave all the money they raised to The Big issue in the North Trust.

                  Super Car

Mihran and Douglas drove in a rally called Le-Jog driving many miles in freezing conditions to raise money for us...

  • Land’s end (southern tip of england) to john o’groats (northern tip of scotland),
  • On b-roads only, this winter, along with 50 other classic cars ranging from 1920’s Bentleys, 1960’s Porsches to a 1970’s Datsun.
  • Total journey will be approximately 2500 miles. The vast majority of it at night.

In the words of Mihran...

"Too many people have no home. And quite bluntly, in winter they are cold, and lonely, and many of those drink to give themselves the sensation of warmth.

The fact we (Douglas Powrie and Mihran' Hovnanian) will be on the road for 5 days, doing 2500 miles in winter, on small roads only, in a 1967 Citroen DS from Manchester to Land's end, to John O'Groats and back to Manchester is nothing compared to what the homeless endure each day.

But we hope it will encourage you to give to this charity that helps get so many of them to get back on track."

Mihran and Douglas completed the race at top speed and in one piece. They raised an amazing £1275 for The Trust.
