posted: 06/01/2012

Open Door have announced plans to move to a new purpose built centre in the East Marsh area of Grimsby (Strand Street) in 2013.

Open Door has just under a thousand registered patients at its practice, with over 600 of these people living in the East Marsh area.

The new centre will  house a range of health and social care services for local people and for the people who currently use services at Open Door’s buildings. The centre will offer access to GP services to anyone in the community and a range of social support services for people with additional needs including people on the autistic spectrum, homeless people, people living with addiction and people looking for employment/volunteering opportunities.

Anne Taylor, Director for Open Door said: " We are looking forwad to developing an iconic centre  of which local poeple can be proud.  The Centre will offer a range of services from GP and Nurse practitioners to training and employment opoprtunities and holistic therapies , all which will help improve the lives of people locally.

" Our survey of our closest current neighbours on Hainton Ave and Freeman Street showed that  half said Open Door had helped regenerate the area and a quarter said they had more customers as a result of open door being there."
