RT HON HAZEL BLEARS MP OPENS SALFORD SOCIAL ENTERPRISE CENTRE WHERE SKILLS2BUILD WILL BE BASED

On Friday 1 July, the Rt Hon Hazel Blears MP officially opened a new Social Enterprise Centre in Swinton which is set to become home to a number of Social Enterprises.
Set within the 50 acre Junction Eco Park in Salford and owned by the Ainscough Group, the Social Enterprise Centre will initially house Skills2Build, which offers paid work placements, training and support to people who are unemployed and face barriers to getting into work.

It has provided us with a great opportunity to grow Skills2Build and to support more people to get the skills they need to get back into employment. We’re looking forward to working in a centre with other social enterprises and exploring the opportunities this provides
Employability Skills Programme
Big Life Employment can assist you to develop your skills that will enable you to progress and get a job. We also offer a range of employability workshops covering, CV creation, cover letters, completing Job Application forms and improving your Interview Skills
These services are delivered in a friendly and supportive environment that allows for you to learn at your own pace. All centres include an IT suite, resource library and friendly staff who are there to assist you.
Skills 2 Build
Skills 2 Build, in partnership with Martin Ainscough, Harvest Housing, Cruden Construction and Pinnacle PSG offers unemployed residents in Partington the oppportunity to develop their skills in grounds maintenance, cleaning and minor repairs. Flexible New Deal - Welfare to Work
Big Life Employment, in partnership with Serco, delivers a 20 week programme that is individually tailored to providen support to job seekers across Greater Manchester. We assess the needs of each job seeker that helps us identify thier job aspirations and any barriers they may face to securing employment developing packages of support to help them overcome these barriers. We also offer a range of employability workshops covering CV creation, creating cover letters, completing Job application forms, improving your Interview Skills and a range of other workshops. Big Life Employment, in partnership with Manchester City Council, are offering unemployed job seekers the opportunity to access the 1st 4sport level 1 coaching qualification.
